Rural Water District 1 PT County KS consists of two systems - System 1 & System 2. Due to the City of Manhattan contract (System 2), the cost of water is at a higher rate than System 1.
System 1 is water we pump, chlorinate and distribute through the system to rural areas north and west of Wamego, including Lousville, Laclede area, Flush and east of Wildcat Woods (Excel Road) to Lake Elbo and the surrounding rural area of St George.
Subdvisions included in System 1 are: Lake Elbo, Whispering Meadows, Willow Glen, Oakmont Farms, Blackjack Estates, Eastland Hills, Kanon Ridge, Drury Acres, Hillside Acres, Diamond Ridge, Rockenham Ridge, Rockenham Woods, Wildridge, Ashleys Vineyard, Megans Vineyard, Oak Grove, Wilderness Acres, Pin Oak Estates, Prairie Pines, Windmill Run, Oak Pointe Estates, Meadow Ridge, Heartwood, Brook Ridge, Pine Springs, Wam-Teau, Legends Lake, Northern Estates, Auburn Hills, Heritage Heights, Westerly Heights, Stonington Estates, Macy Place, Stoneybrick, Mandy Meadows.
System 2 is water we purchase from the City of Manhattan. System 2 water is distributed to the rural areas and subdivisions in the area of Excel Road, Dempsey, Green Valley, Moody, Junietta, Blue River Road and Hwy 24 (west from Shilling Construction to the east side of the Blue River Bridge). We do not distribute water to Timber Creek Estates. Timber Creek is served by Pottawatomie County Utilities (785-457-1440).
Subdivisions included in System 2 are: Wildcat Woods, Irvine Acres, Elbo Creek Estates, The Glen, Heritage Hills, Nelson's Ridge, Falling Leaf, Sunset Ridge, Eagles Landing, Hunters Crossing and the Green Valley Business Park.
